Other Masonic Orders

Alongside the three Craft degrees of Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft and Master Mason, there are a number of other Masonic Orders. These are independent organisations in which Freemasons can explore additional degrees, rituals and traditions.

Further Masonic development

Freemasonry in the lodge forms the foundation. Those who wish to continue their Masonic development may join one of these other Orders. Participation is voluntary, and many Freemasons remain active exclusively within their lodge.

Each Order has its own character, organisation and admission procedure. Although they operate independently, they have close historical and Masonic ties with Craft Freemasonry. Membership of a lodge within the Order is generally a prerequisite for admission.

All these Orders follow their own traditions, but share the same foundation: the three Craft degrees practised in the lodge.
