Our lodges

The lodge is where Freemasonry is practised. It is a local community whose members meet regularly for ritual, conversation and shared activities. Anyone who wants to become a Freemason does so through a lodge.

Our Order has around 150 lodges and approximately 5.500 members. A lodge usually has a few dozen members, making it small enough for them to know one another personally. Each lodge is legally independent and has its own character, while all share the same Masonic tradition. The word ‘lodge’ refers both to the community of members and to the place where they meet.

When you join a lodge, you also become a member of the Order of Freemasons under the Grand East of the Netherlands.
